The knowledge (cognitive) side is more dominant than the affective side, namely behavior and or character. This problem can be overcome by holding character education together with a curriculum that is developed according to the needs of students and the demands of today's developments. This study aims to determine the management of curriculum development in fostering Islamic character at MIN 1 Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a naturalistic approach. The key informant was the Coordinator of the MIN 1 Yogyakarta Curriculum Development Team. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. For data analysis, using the approach popularized by Miles and Huberman which consists of 3 (three) phases namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the development of the Yogyakarta MIN 1 curriculum uses a management function that is internalized in 4 (four) aspects of the Tyler model, namely formulating educational goals, determining learning experiences, organizing learning experiences, and evaluating. From these 4 (four) aspects it shows that the development of the MIN 1 Yogyakarta curriculum is comprehensive (thorough); 2) the role of curriculum development management in fostering Islamic character at MIN 1 Yogyakarta is to ensure that Islamic values are integrated effectively in the implementation of intra-curricular, extra-curricular and self-development activities; 3) the form of curriculum development management contribution in fostering Islamic character of MIN 1 Yogyakarta is by integrating Islamic values into the curriculum, superior learning programs, and character education implemented at MIN 1 Yogyakarta, all of which can help in developing students' Islamic character . %Z Pembimbing: Dr. H.
