description: Children in conflict with the law during the judicial process must apply the  presumption of innocence. The handling of children's cases is regulated through  special provisions in Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal  Justice System, including regulating children's rights. However, there are still  rights that are violated by law enforcement officials when children become  perpetrators of criminal acts such as receiving unfair treatment and even not  getting their rights to be treated humanely. The subject matter discussed in this  study is how the legal protection of children's rights during the criminal justice  process and how the legal protection of children who experience violence by  investigators in verdict number 9/Pid.Sus-Anak/2020/PN Yyk.  The method used in this research is the normative juridical approach  method and is descriptive analysis. This research is a type of library research that  examines various literature and legal materials contained in laws and regulations,  law books, and court decisions. The theories used by the author in this research  are theories of legal protection, the presumption of innocence, and legal  considerations.  Based on the results of this study, legal protection for children in the  juvenile criminal justice system can be found in various international convention  and laws and regulations concerning children. In the case of the decision, there  are still several deviations that are not in accordance with the laws and  regulations both regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code, the Juvenile Criminal  Justice System, and the Child Protection Law and there are violations of the  fulfillment of children's rights. So that law enforcement officials are obliged to  pay attention to the rights of children in conflict with the law and while carrying  out their duties must be in accordance with the juvenile criminal justice system  and applicable statutory provisions.
