abstract: Technological developments are currently increasingly advanced, one of which is marked by the emergence of the internet in society. Based on the results of a survey conducted by the Association of Indonesian Internet Service Providers, it was stated that the reason for using the internet was to be able to access social media as much as 98,02%. Social media users, especially Tiktok users, need to consider the positive and negative impacts when accessing the Tiktok application regarding privacy information. Information management that occurs is the process of making a decision to disclose personal information or store personal information which is called communication privacy management. In this research to identify and explain how communication privacy management practices occur in Tiktok users, especially communication science students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the interview method so that it is more detailed, specific, and in-depth. The results of the study show that the communication privacy management practices of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students when using the Tiktok application in making decisions to disclose personal information or store personal information are based on belief in ownership of personal information, high to low control of personal information, personal information rules, shared ownership and protection of personal information as well as turbulence of personal information boundaries.
