%X The most important that must be considered in family education is communication. Communication is paramount in family education since it serves as the foundation for human connections and interactions. Good parental communication patterns are needed between parents and children in educating children so that children become good individuals. This study analyzes the communication patterns of parents with low education levels and their children in the formation of a child's personality at Giriharjo, Panggang Gunungkidul. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection through in depth-interviews, observation, literature, and documentation. The result showed that there were two communication patterns beetwen young married parents and children. [1] Laissez-faire communication, giving freedom to children as well as a lack of concept-oriented communication and children are less directed to develop themselves.[2] Consensual communication pattern, with firm but open communication, and able to direct the child. This research was conducted by interviewing 9 informants; 6 parents, or 3 couples, and 4 children from parents with low education level.
