In this theory, it is explained how the stages of the development of morality based on the ethics of caring which are characteristic of women and the influence of the development of morality on relations between genders. This theory arises from the anxiety of feminist psychological scientists who disagree with the development of morality brought by Kolhberg which refers to the ethics of justice which tends to be male. This research seeks to identify the development of the morality of the female characters in Sayyidat al-Qamar's novel in the midst of gender injustice and patriarchal culture that were rooted at that time and to reveal the inter-gender relations that occur in it. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. Data collection techniques in research are reading and notetaking techniques. The results in this study were found to be the development of morality in 3 female characters with 3 stages, namely the pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional stages as well as 2 transitions in the preconventional to conventional and conventional to post-conventional stages. In addition, it describes the gender relations that occur between female characters and their partners. In her novel, Jokha Al Harthi describes the lives of three main female characters amid gender inequality, they survive and improve their generation with the support of their partners. %Z Pembimbing: Dr. Tatik Mariyatut Tasnimah, M.Ag
