description: This research is motivated by the rampant cases of child abuse that occur in  Indonesia. One of the factors causing violence against children committed by  parents is parenting stress. Several studies have shown that there is a relationship  between parenting stress and the potential for child maltreatment and extreme  variations in parenting behavior. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission  (KPAI) reported that there were 1,457 cases of violence against children in 2019.  The hypothesis of this study is that there is a positive relationship between parenting  stress and violent behavior in children in Niten Karang Tengah Gamping hamlet.  The higher the parenting stress, the higher the violent behavior in children and there  is a negative relationship between emotional regulation on parenting stress and  violent behavior in children. Emotional regulation is able to act as a moderator in  the relationship between parenting stress and violent behavior in children. The  higher the Emotional Regulation, the weaker the relationship between parenting  stress and violent behavior in children. Conversely, the lower the relationship  between parenting stress and violent behavior in children. . Respondents in this  study amounted to 40 mothers in Niten Hamlet, Nogtirto Karang Tengah Gamping  who have children aged 0-18 years. The sampling technique in this study used  purposive sampling technique. The type of research used is quantitative research  with data collection techniques using three scales, namely parenting stress scale,  violent behavior in children, and emotion regulation scale. Data analysis in this  study used SPSS. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive  correlation between parenting stress and violent behavior in children in the Niten  Karang Tengah Gamping hamlet with the results of the sig level = 0.000 (P < 0.05)  and emotional regulation is not able to play a role in the relationship between  parenting stress and violent behavior in children. This is because the majority of  subjects have low emotional regulation.
