However, in reality there are still many adolescents who tend not to believe in themselves and do not accept themselves fully due to having an obese body. The purpose of this study is to look at the description of self-concept in adolescent girls who receive verbal bullying from others due to obesity. This research method uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The informants of this study amounted to three people, namely young women aged 12 to 23 years with obese body weight conditions and had experienced verbal bullying from others related to their body condition. The results of this study indicate that the self-concept images of informants LA and TA are negative, seen in the two informants who tend to: (1) describe their physical condition poorly, (2) blame their obese body condition as the cause of everything, (3) feel embarrassed, afraid, and anxious when socializing with others or when in a crowd. While NA informants show a picture of self-concept that tends to be positive, as evidenced by NA informants who: (1) making the verbal bullying he received as his motivation to become a better person, both physically and non-physically, (2) having no difficulty when building friendships with others, even with the opposite sex, (3) receiving praise from others without shame, (4) considering himself equal to others, (5) being open to criticism, (6) not feeling worried or afraid when in the crowd. So it can be concluded that young women who experience verbal bullying due to obesity do not always have a low self-concept, where there are other factors that support the formation of self-concept in individuals, such as receiving positive support from people closest to the informant and because they follow many female influencers who have obese bodies. %Z Pembimbing: Rita Setyani Hadi Sukirno, M.Psi,
