abstract: A crisis is a situation that can threaten the image and reputation of an institution. One government institution that is not immune to this risk is the Ministry of Finance. The crisis started with a controversy video involving a government tax official's son, which led to serious questions about the integrity and transparency of the institution. This research analyzes the crisis communication of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance in handling the Rafael Alun Trisambodo case and its impact on image restoration. This research uses the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) approach as an analytical framework to understand the communication strategy implemented by the Ministry of Finance. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research where the data collected is obtained through observation and interviews. Then, the data obtained is analyzed using descriptive methods and inductive mindset analysis. By analyzing specific data, conclusions can be drawn. The results show that the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance, including transparency efforts, rapid response, and collaboration with stakeholder, have been successful in restoring public trust and increasing tax payments. Increased tax compliance and public trust survey results are clear evidence that effective crisis communication can support the restoration of an organization's image. This research is expected to provide guidance for government organizations and other institutions in dealing with crises and maintaining a good image in the digital era.
