One of these dangerous wastes is Rhodamine B dye. Rhodamine B dye is a dangerous and reactive halogen compound so it is toxic to the human body. Photocatalysis is an effort to reduce contamination of Rhodamine B dye. Photocatalysis is used as an effort to reduce pollution from Rhodamine B dye. This research synthesizes a ZnO/rGO composite as a catalyst to degrade Rhodamine B dye by varying the alignment time and addition of rGO. Synthesis of rGO using coconut shell graphite with the modified Hummer method and ascorbic acid reduction. The research results show that coconut shell charcoal graphite can be synthesized using the modified Hummer method and ascorbic acid reduction. This success is marked by the presence of O‒H, C‒O, C=C, and C=O bonds. The research results also showed that the exposure time and addition of rGO were very influential in increasing the photocatalytic activity, which was indicated by a decrease in the concentration of the Rhodamine B test solution after degradation. The research results showed that the largest percentage of degradation was 68,5% carried out by the ZnO/rGO-II sample with an exposure time of 30 minutes. %Z Pembimbing: Dr. Widayanti, S.Si., M.Si.
