N2  - Metaverse has become a digital phenomenon that is growing rapidly,
creating new opportunities in various aspects of online life, including buying and
selling virtual land. The author aims to analyze the legal protection provided to
consumers involved in these transactions. Virtual land buying and selling
transactions on metaverse platforms present a number of legal challenges that need
to be considered. Consumers in these transactions have legal rights and protections
that should be recognized and protected in the context of the metaverse. However,
the lack of clarity in existing regulations and legal differences between jurisdictions
can result in difficulties in providing adequate legal protection for consumers.
This type of research is field research using an empirical juridical
approach, namely research that begins deductively by analyzing the articles in the
applicable laws and regulations in connection with the facts in the field. The nature
of the research in this research is analytical descriptive regarding legal protection
for consumers in virtual land transactions on the metaverse platform.
The results of this research show that legal protection for consumers in
virtual land buying and selling transactions on the metaverse platform shows that
there is protection or regulation regarding legal protection for consumers, but is
not yet fully able to protect consumers in the virtual land buying and selling
transaction process on the metaverse platform due to existing regulations. There
has not been a complete discussion in detail regarding consumer protection in
virtual land buying and selling transactions on the metaverse platform.
