One of the resources in question is financing. Cost management should be efficient, effective and precise, so that educational institutions can be independent and not dependent on other parties. Business-based financing is one alternative that has the potential to be developed. This funding source can be managed independently if donation funds decrease, thereby reducing an educational institution's dependence on donation funds. This research was conducted to describe business-based education financing management to improve the independence of an Islamic educational institution, namely the Darush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School. The method used in this research was qualitative research and a descriptive approach. The resource persons consisted of 1 kiai, 1 person in charge of the education division, 1 manager, 1 administrator, and 3 students. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique using the Milles and Huberman technique that includes the following stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity testing was carried out using credibility testing techniques. The research results show that: First, the implementation of business-based financing management at the Darush Sholihin Islamic boarding school through four stages of management functions which include; planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. Second, the implications of business-based financing management at the Darush Sholihin Islamic boarding school can foster independence, self-confidence, empower the surrounding community, as well as increase the number of educational programs, increase the number of students, more complete educational facilities, and improve human resources. Third, supporting and inhibiting factors. The following supporting factors are: a) available capital for business unit programs, b) regulations that support business unit programs, c) local community support, and d) separate financial records between business units and Islamic boarding schools. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are; a) limited human resources in terms of expertise, b) less assertiveness towards employees, c) low employee responsibility, and d) too much cost for building project labor.} }
