The impact of syrup medicine containing EG and DEG contamination is that it causes losses to consumers, both money and health. The effect that occurs after taking this drug is that it causes Acute Kidney Failure in children , thereby endangering consumer safety. Consumer protection in this matter is still unclear, especially for children. The problem to be studied in this research is how consumers are protected against the distribution of syrup medicines for children containi ng EG and DEG contamination and what legal measures are related to the implementation of consumer protection against the distribution of syrup medicines for children containing EG and DEG. The type of approach used in conducting this research uses a juridical empirical approach. Juridical is studying normative concepts or concepts of statutory regulations, while empirical is studying the reality in the field. Qualitative data analysis and th e theoretical basis used to analyze this research use the theory of legal protection, consumer protection, and consumer legal remedies. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was concluded that the protection carried out by government institutions was quite optimal. This protection not only monitors the dosage or composition of the drug but also monitors labels or advertising. Apart fr om supervision, they also provide awareness regarding the careful use of medicines, especially syrup medicines for children. However, it is considered that pre market supervision has not been carried out optimally. Efforts to implement consumer protection, namely by carrying out litigation and non litigation efforts. Non litigation efforts can involve advocacy by complaining to consumer institutions or complaining to BPSK, while litigation goes through court.} }
