N2  - Working is a way to fulfill the needs of husband and wife in their marital relationship so that the family can remain harmonious. However, working excessively (workaholic) apparently can also trigger disputes such as the case in the Bantul Religious Court Decision Number 840/Pdt.G/2022/PA.Btl. Workaholic is a condition where a person prioritizes work by ignoring other interests, including family. So when this happens in a family it will be very vulnerable to conflict.
This research aims to analyze workaholic can be a trigger for divorce and the judge's consideration in this case if it is related to principles maslahah mursalah. The theory that is relevant to analyzing this case is theory work-family conflict, spouses of workaholic, as well as maslahah mursalah. The method used in this research is library research namely by using the Decision of the Bantul Religious Court Number 840/Pdt.G/2022/PA.Btl. Apart from that, this research uses data in the form of interviews with judges and psychologists. This research uses descriptive-analytic analysis techniques. The results of this research found that the judge's considerations in this decision were in line with the principles maslahah mursalah. Where by deciding on a divorce on this matter it is ensured that it can provide benefits and avoid harm for each party.
Workaholic can be a reason for divorce because workaholic making a person unable to balance work demands and family demands which triggers conflict in the household. This quarrel means that there is no longer any hope of living in harmony as a family. In this way, the elements of a case that can be used as a reason for divorce are fulfilled, as are the reasons that can be accepted as divorce in Law no. 1 of 1974 Article 39 Paragraph (2) point f, namely that between husband and wife there are always disputes and quarrels, and there is no longer any hope of living in harmony in the household.
