However, the efforts made by PT BSI have yet to be completely successful. In May 2023, PT BSI experienced a customer data leak which caused negative sentiment on social media. The formulation of the problem in this research is how big the influence of data leaks and negative e-WOM through the ability to analyze Sharia banking principles on PT BSI's trust in a brand partially and simultaneously? This research uses the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory with the assumption that consumers determine trust in a brand through the ability to analyze Islamic banking principles with stimulus messages in the form of exposure to data leaks and Negative e-WOM. This research uses quantitative methods with path analysis tests. The research results show that the variables of exposure to data leaks and negative eWOM through the ability to analyze sharia banking principles on PT BSI's trust in a brand partially and simultaneously have a significant influence.
