The burden of teaching duties, personal burden becomes a complex problem. These problems are reflected in the attitude of students who are lazy to recite the Koran, undisciplined, violate the rules of the pesantren, have to take care of students, teach with appropriate methods, self-control in dealing with students and so on, not in accordance with the facilities obtained. Even so, teachers in pesantren still carry out their duties very well and professionally. This shows the meaning of a teacher's life in pesantren which has a positive influence on the happiness and serenity of a teacher through his experience. This study aims to determine the description of the meaning of life of teachers in pesantren. In addition, this research is also expected to have an impact on readers about the meaning of life and be useful for future research. This researcher used a qualitative method of phenomenological study with data collection techniques of interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this research are teachers at Pesantren Nurul Ummah Putri who have served for more than five years, totaling three people consisting of one male subject and two female subjects.
