N2  - This research is based on: 1) The digital era is characterised by the rapid
development of information and communication that is only accessed by
computers, gadgets, and the internet. And the use of the internet is mostly
teenagers such as students who occur at SMA Muhammadiyah Kalasan, and the
impact is very large experienced by students. 2) When using handponts without
moral guidance and values, as well as a good moral foundation, students are prone
to negative things from social media, peers, and the surrounding environment. 3)
The role of PAI teachers in the digital era becomes indispensable when educating
and guiding learners to keep having good morals.
This study aims to describe the moral decline of the digital era experienced
by students at school, the role of PAI teachers in overcoming the moral decline of
students at school, and the inhibiting and supporting factors of teachers in
overcoming the moral decline of students at school. The type of research used in
this research is field research (field reserch) with phenomenological descriptive
qualitative characteristics. Data sources in this study include: headmaster, PAI
teachers, and students. Data collection was done by observation, interview, and
documentation.
The results of this study indicate that: 1) Moral Decline in the Digital Age
experienced by Learners at SMA Muhammadiyah Kalasan, includes several
deviant behaviours such as: Addiction to social media, addiction to online
games/slots, pornographic films, dating, and bullying which results in a decrease
in the morale of students at school. The impact also makes students lazy in
worship, learning, making students individual and indifferent to teachers, not
respecting teachers in class, and always getting away with convoluted excuses.
However, the moral decline that occurs, the teacher only gives a warning and
understanding if there is an offence against students. 2) The Role of PAI Teachers
in Overcoming the Moral Decline of Learners at Muhammadiyah Kalasan High
School is done by supervision, giving role models, guiding, reprimanding and
giving warnings / advice, and 3) Factors that become inhibitors of PAI Teachers
in Overcoming the Moral Decline of Learners at Muhammadiyah Kalasan High
School are the lack of cooperation from parents, the school environment that is
less assertive towards students, and hanging out with friends. While the
Supporters of PAI Teachers in Overcoming the Moral Decline of Students at
SMA Muhammadiyah Kalasan are positive activities such as tahsin, tahfis,
tilawah, literacy, praying in congregation, extracurricular activities,
entrepreneurship, and religious activities.
