This is because the existing media is monotonous and lacks variety. Children are less interested and less interested. One medium that can be used to stimulate this ability is the traditional game of engklek. The aim of the research is to prove the effectiveness of the traditional engklek game on the ability to recognize number symbols and gross motor skills in children aged 5-6 years. This type of quantitative research is pre experimental design. Population of children aged 5-6 children. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling, a type of purposive sample technique of 12. The data collection technique uses observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques use IBM SPSS version 16.0. The research results show that: 1) The t-test produces a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000, stated as 0.000 < 0.05 means Ha is accepted. 2) The N-Gain test produces an average value of 0.7519 which is in the high category for the variable recognizing number symbols and an average value of 0.6645 which is in the medium category for the gross motor variable. Thus, the traditional engklek game is effectively used to improve the ability to recognize number symbols and gross motor skills in children aged 5-6 years.
