abstract: Correctional inmates after being sentenced and undergoing training in prison will experience drastic life changes, loss of freedom, and complete restrictions. This caused several problems for him. One of the problems experienced by correctional inmates is self-acceptance. Self-acceptance is an individual's attitude that is able to accept and understand the conditions that exist in oneself as a whole, both the advantages and disadvantages that exist in oneself.
The aim of this research is to determine the forms of family support to develop self-acceptance of correctional inmates in class IIA prisons in Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this research were prison officers, correctional inmates, and families of correctional inmates. The results of this research are that there are four forms of family support to develop self-acceptance of correctional inmates in class IIA prisons in Yogyakarta. The first form of family support is informational support, this support takes the form of providing information, advice and suggestions. Secondly, emotional support, this support takes the form of verbal and nonverbal expressions such as encouragement and hugs. Third, instrumental support, this support takes the form of providing financial materials such as money, clothes and food. The final form of family support is appreciation support in the form of giving praise and gifts as appreciation for an achievement
