One of the reasons is because many boarding schools do not follow various social problems in the community, and some boarding schools even close access. Islamic boarding schools teach many skills that focus on success in learning, but there are some skills that have not been taught by Islamic boarding schools to students, one of which is future orientation. Islamic boarding schools, especially those in Indonesia, apply different learning models, according to the function of each pesantren, but from the many learning models to the routines carried out by students in Islamic boarding schools, there is no major influence that stimulates the ability of students in the level of understanding of future orientation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between self-efficacy and future orientation in students at Bina Umat Yogyakarta boarding school. The type of research used is a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 76 students who had lived at Bina Umat boarding school for more than 1 year. The instruments in this study used a self-efficacy scale with a total of 10 items and a future orientation scale of 33 items. Data analysis using Pearson correlation analysis with the help of SPSS 18 for windows application. Based on the test results, the significance coefficient value is 0.000 <0.05 and r = 0.469. This value indicates a positive correlation between self-efficacy and future orientation. From the test results above, it is shown that there is a positive relationship between the two variables, which means that the higher the self-efficacy of the students, the higher the future orientation of the students, on the contrary, if the lower the selfefficacy of the students, the lower the future orientation of the students. In addition to self-efficacy, there are also other factors that influence future orientation, namely self esteem. %Z Pembimbing: Slamet, S.Ag, M.Si
