This research aims to study the effect of acid concentration, mass ratio of REOH/Volume of CH3COOH, temperature and time on the leaching efficiency of monazite leached rare earth metal hydroxide and to study the kinetics of reaction order, and reaction rate constant (k) of monazite leached REOH using acetic acid. In this study, the effect of acetic acid concentration of 0; 0.1; 0.4; 0.7; 1 M, variation of REOH mass / CH3COOH volume ratio of 1:10, 1:11, 1:12, 1:13, 1:14, temperature variation of 30 ℃, 50 ℃, 70 ℃, and time variation of 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 minutes to obtain the optimum conditions of the leaching process. Analysis of the leached REE composition was carried out by X-Ray Flouresecence (XRF). Reaction kinetics were studied at temperatures of 30℃, 50℃, 70℃, and times of 15, 30, 45, 75 minutes. The results showed that REOH leaching using acetic acid can separate Ce elements that remain in the solid phase as residue while other REE elements are leached or dissolved as the liquid phase. The optimum conditions for REOH leaching using acetic acid were obtained at a concentration of 0.7 M, a ratio (L/S) of 10, Under these conditions, the Ce content in the solid phase (residue) was obtained at 49% and the leaching efficiency of Ce = close to 0%, Pr = 78.6%, La = 76% and Nd = 70% in the liquid phase. In addition, the kinetics of lanthanum, neodymium, and praseodymium leaching were studied to determine the value of the reaction rate constant. The value is to determine how fast the reaction runs and also to find out how much conversion is produced. The leaching of lanthanum, neodymium, and praseodymium followed the second order.
