description: The understanding of the Prophetic traditions continues to develop and each figure has a way or method of understanding the Prophetic traditions. Basically, there are two forms of understanding hadith that are often done by hadith scholars. The first is the textual understanding of the hadith which emphasizes the explicit aspects of the hadith. The second is the contextual understanding of the hadith, by taking several approaches in the process of understanding it, such as historical, social, linguistic approaches and others. This requires us to see the method or stages Hasbi took in understanding the Prophet's hadith.  This research is a qualitative study in the form of library research. Which directs to the literature related to this research. The data that has been collected both primary and secondary data is then studied descriptively.  After conducting a fairly long research, the researcher concluded that Hasbi's framework of understanding hadith which is contained in one chapter of the theme of the debate, namely Fiqhul Hadith, first, that hadith is the source of shari'a. Although for Hasbi hadith and sunnah are two different things that are not synonymous, they still have similarities because the Prophet's actions are corroborated by his words. hadith itself is understood as a lafziyah history of the Prophet's words, while sunnah is the Prophet's actions that were practiced in front of the Companions, then followed by the Companions continuously until the current generation of Muslims so that it has mutawatir 'amali value.  In Hadith fiqhl Hasbi outlines several forms of hadith understanding. Hasbi shows his tendency to understand hadith texts literally, especially those relating to traditions on worship and aqidah, and it is also necessary to understand hadith thoroughly, rationally and relate them contextually to get a complete understanding. as well as his tendency to do ijtihad and avoid bigotry towards certain schools of fiqh.  By reading Hasbi's work in the field of hadith, especially in the book 2002 Mutiara Hadith. There are several steps and methods that Hasbi applies in understanding hadith. First. Understanding hadith with the guidance of the Qur'an, Second. Interpreting abstruse traditions, Third. Referring to a number of references in this case referring to the understanding of the fuqaha or the opinion of the imams of the madhhab, Fourth. Compromising mukhtalif traditions, Fifth. language approach, Sixth. Historical approach.
