        abstract = {Every human being is created by Allah as His representative in the world, affirming
their inherent role as leaders. Leadership in Islam is considered a trust that must be carried
out with honesty, justice, and obedience to Allah. Actions of leaders who deceive are
contrary to Islamic values and have the potential to harm both physically and spiritually.
The Qur'an and Hadith emphasize a strict prohibition against dishonest leaders, with
threats of punishment both in this world and the hereafter. The current leadership crisis
underscores the urgency of conducting leadership with integrity and justice in accordance
with Islamic teachings.
The objective of this research is to provide knowledge about the understanding of
the Hadith regarding deceitful leaders and its contextualization in contemporary
leadership. This study is a descriptive qualitative research, focusing primarily on books
and various other literary sources. The theory of Ma?anil Yusuf Qordhowi is the approach
used by the researcher in this study. The sources of data used are primary and secondary
data. Primary data in this research refer to the al-Kutub al-Tis?ah, while secondary data
are obtained through books or additional sources related to the theories and methods used
by the researcher. This study examines the importance of integrity and justice in leadership,
as well as the prohibition against dishonest leaders in Islam.
This thesis research focuses on the understanding of the Hadith regarding deceitful
leaders and its contextualization in contemporary leadership. The results of the research
conducted by the researcher, in terms of the analysis of the quality of the Hadith, indicate
that the Hadith holds the status of Sahih li dzatihi. Furthermore, the understanding of the
Hadith regarding deceitful leaders indicates the importance for leaders to strengthen the
principles of moral and ethical values in religion. This underscores that a leader is not only
responsible for administrative and political tasks but also has moral and religious
responsibilities towards their people. These findings demonstrate the importance of Islamic
principles in contemporary leadership. The contextualization of this research is that the
relevant implications of the related Hadith provide a strong ethical foundation and support
for upholding justice and integrity in contemporary leadership governance}
