The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a semiotic approach. Data collection techniques through observation and literature study. The analysis uses Roland Barthes's semiotic theory approach. The meaning in Roland Barthes' semiotic theory is known as the Two Orders of Signification, which focuses on two stages of signification, namely denotation and connotation. The connotation of Roland's semiotics has the function of revealing and providing justification which he calls a myth. The results in this study are that the librarian profession is represented as follows: 1) The librarian is interpreted as a helper because the librarian profession helps users by being their guide to the library materials they need and helps users by giving directions. 2) The librarian as an information manager because in this poem the librarian is described as someone who maintains a collection of library materials, documents information sources, provides knowledge and information both print and non-print to users, and manages and processes scattered information sources. 3) The librarian as a consultant, because the librarian is a place for consulting scientists. 4) Librarians as educators after providing learning to users through a collection of library materials. 5) Librarians as information facilitators, because librarians bring knowledge and information closer to users, and participate in disseminating knowledge and information in order to help expedite the nation's civilization education process.} }
