The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a semiotic approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, documentation, and literature study. The data analysis technique uses Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. In Pierce's theory, it is revealed that the meaning of signs uses a tiadic system or triangle of meaning which consists of a sign (representament), object (object), and meaning (interpretant). The data analysis technique used is to look for signs (representaments) in the form of scenes or dialogues in the film related to literacy practices. Then, the sign in the form of a scene will be screenshot. After the signs are obtained, these signs will be grouped into objects (objects) that contain icons, indexes, and symbols. Next, the interpretation will be carried out. The results of this study indicate that literacy practices shown in the film include reading and writing practices. At the age of 5-6 years the ability to read and write shows a performative and functional level. Then, at the age of 7-12 years the ability to read and write tends to increase, namely at the informational to epistemic levels. It can be concluded that children aged 5-6 years have the potential to carry out simple literacy practices. Then, as they get older they are able to increase their literacy skills to reach the highest level, namely epistemic} }
