abstract: This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in the forms of Coping Stress experienced by wives whose husbands migrate to other areas. This study discusses the various efforts made by wives whose husbands migrate in Pengkok Village, Kedawung District, Sragen Regency, Central Java, in overcoming stress while maintaining a long-distance relationship with their husbands. Coping stress is carried out by wives whose husbands migrate to overcome and manage stress or discomfort when far from their husbands. The subjects used in this study are 3 wives with specific criteria whose husbands migrate to other areas.
The purpose of this study is to describe and describe the coping stress of wives whose husbands migrate in Pengkok Village, Kedawung District, Sragen Regency, Central Java Province. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data analysis explained descriptively. The results of this study are that all three subjects use both types of coping strategies, namely problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. The emotion-focused coping aspects of coping stress carried out by the subjects are seeking social emotional support, distancing, self-control, and accepting responsibility, while one aspect of emotion-focused coping not performed by the subjects is escape avoidance. Meanwhile, the problem- focused coping aspect not performed by the subjects is seeking informational support. All three subjects engage in problem-focused coping, namely planful problem solving and confrontive coping.
