Despite their close connection with religion, santri students are not exempt from academic stress. This is due to the academic pressure at university combined with the demanding activities in the boarding school, resulting in a dual burden for santri students. This study aims to examine the relationship between academic stress and spirituality among santri students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is quantitative correlational, with convenience sampling as the sampling technique. The subjects of this study are active santri students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires consisting of two measurement instruments: the academic stress scale developed by Maharani (2022) based on the academic stress theory by Sarafino & Smith (2011) and the spirituality orientation inventory (SOI) by Wahyuningsih (2009) based on the spirituality theory by Elkins et al. (1988). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson product-moment correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between academic stress and spirituality among santri students, with p = 0.0473 (p < 0.05), r = -0.187, and R² = 0,035. These findings indicate that higher levels of spirituality are correlated with lower levels of academic stress. This study provides insight that to reduce academic stress, santri students can enhance their spirituality. Furthermore, the study supports the need for programs that facilitate the enhancement of spirituality in both boarding school and campus environments to reduce academic stress. %K Stres Akademik, Spiritualitas, Mahasiswa Santri %D 2024 %I UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA %L digilib66392
