However, many studies show that teachers' understanding of the independent curriculum needs to be improved. This is an essential task that must be carried out by teachers for the successful implementation of the independent curriculum. Someone with good metacognitive skills will be able to understand their thought processes and implement the learning strategies needed to solve difficult problems/tasks. Therefore, researchers conducted research which aimed to review teachers' metacognitive abilities regarding the things needed regarding the independent curriculum. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of the research were teachers in SDN Andongsari 01. The data collection technique used in this study was interviews. The data analysis technique used in this study was the data analysis technique offered by Miles and Huberman, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, to check the validity of the data, the researcher used the member check technique. The results of this study shows that in the knowledge dimension, each informant has succeeded in meeting several indicators, but there are several indicators that have not been met. Likewise in the regulatory dimension, there are several indicators that have been successfully met by each informant, and there are several indicators that have not been met %Z Pembimbing: Prof. Dr. Sukiman, S.Ag, M.Pd
