This aims to prepare children to face future challenges. Mathematical literacy skills emphasize students' ability to solve problems found in everyday life effectively using mathematical problem solving. Combining an ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach is one way that can be used to teach mathematical literacy at the early childhood education level. This is because the STEAM approach is an approach that uses the concept of fun learning and emphasizes children's creativity in solving problems related to everyday life. Meanwhile, ethnomathematics has many elements of mathematical concepts that can be used as learning media. One of the ethnomathematics options is to introduce mathematical concepts to early childhood through traditional games. This research aims to find out: 1) the ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach can improve the mathematical literacy skills of early childhood at the Angkasa Lanud Adisucipto Yogyakarta Kindergarten; 2) Early childhood mathematical literacy skills can be improved through an ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach with traditional games at the Angkasa Lanud Adisucipto Yogyakarta Kindergarten. The type of research used is quantitative with an experimental research design in the form of pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest at TK Angkasa Lanud Adisucipto Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews and documentation with research respondents totaling 48 children. Data analysis techniques use IBM SPSS version 20.0. Based on the research results, it is known that there is an increase in the mathematical literacy skills of early childhood using the ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach. The ethnomathematics used in this research are four traditional games, namely kite, marbles, crank and rope jumping. Of the four games, mathematical literacy material can be introduced to young children, such as introducing the concepts of algebra, numbers, geometry and information processing (data analysis). The results of the pretest and posttest data analysis after applying the ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach using the paired samples test with the acquisition of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that the ethnomathematics-based STEAM approach can improve the mathematical literacy skills of early childhood.
