abstract: Forming a harmonious family is one of the main goals in marriage. There are various ways that can be done to realize a harmonious family, one of which is through guidance and teaching in pesantren. The background of this study is to find out the views of alumni santri in building family harmony, as well as the values/teachings given by pesantren to the families of alumni santri. The reason for choosing Complex L is because there has not been much research related to family harmony there, then the number of male students in Complex L is more than other male complexes, many male ustadz/santri are married to female complex satriwati, and the average ustadz who teaches is married. The purpose of this study is to find out how the efforts of pesantren to improve family harmony according to the views of the santri alumni families which are then reviewed in Islamic law.
This research is a type of field research. The nature of this research is descriptive analysis, with data collection techniques, namely interviews and documentation. The research approach used is a normative-empirical approach. The qualitative data analysis method used is the inductive method. The subject of the research is alumni of students of Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School Complex L. The theory used as the basis for analysis is Maqashid Syariah.
The results of the study explain that the efforts made by pesantren in improving the family harmony of santri are by providing advice and practices. In addition, the pesantren also teaches the recitation of books related to family and household. Some of the advice and practices given include patience, maintaining communication, qanaah and not greedy, covering family disgrace, maintaining relationships with teachers and pesantren, praying in congregation with wife/family, fasting, reading the Qur'an, dhikr and sholawat, and sending Al-Fatihah gifts to wife and family. Based on this view, the efforts of Pesantren Al-Munawwir Komplek L are in line with the values contained in the family maqashid sharia, namely regulating the relationship between men and women, maintaining the generation/continuity of human life, creating a sakinah, mawaddah wa rahmah family, maintaining lineage, maintaining religion in the family, regulating family institutional aspects and regulating family financial aspects.
