%X This research analyzes the interpretation of KH Maimoen Zubair in the book Tafsīr Safīnah Kalla Saya'lamūn. This book is a transcript of Mbah Moen's recitation of Jalain Tafsir which was held at PP Al Anwar Sarang, Rembang. Mbah Moen is an Islamic boarding school kyai and scholar who is known for his dynamic thoughts and responsiveness to current developments. This research aims to examine how Mbah Moen combines elements of modernity in his interpretation so that he can answer contemporary issues. The research methodology used is qualitative analysis with a descriptive-analytical approach to Mbah Moen's interpretive texts. This research found that in interpreting the Al-Qur'an, Mbah Moen did not only rely on literal interpretation but also provided argumentative explanations based on current social and cultural realities. This shows that Mbah Moen's interpretation is adaptive to the conditions of the times. Apart from that, this interpretive model can answer the challenges faced by the people. This research also identified that Mbah Moen's interpretation is closely related to social nuances due to several factors, namely religious social realities, modern science and technology, and audience factors. This research contributes to the study of Indonesian tafsir, especially regarding modern tafsir in the Indonesian context, and it is hoped that it can become the basis for further research on the contribution of ulama in responding to the challenges of the times through interpreting the Al-Qur'an
