abstract: Religious moderation is a crucial solution for fostering harmony and tolerance
within a multicultural society. The degree of religious moderation in a community
is influenced by several factors, including religious preaching (dakwah) and
religiosity. The intensity of accessing dakwah media and the level of religiosity
must be controlled to realize religious moderation, thereby creating a peaceful and
prosperous society. This study aims to examine the influence of the intensity of
accessing dakwah media and religiosity on the religious moderation attitudes of
Generation Z in Kulon Progo. This study employs the Theory of Planned Behavior,
which attitudes have a significant influence on behavior. The research employs a
quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis, and data were
collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The study
results indicate that the intensity of accessing dakwah media (X1) partially has a
significant impact on religious moderation attitudes (Y), although the regression
coefficient is negative (-0.087), suggesting that an increase in accessing dakwah
media may actually decrease religious moderation attitudes. Conversely, the
religiosity variable (X2) has a significant positive influence on religious moderation
attitudes (Y) with a regression coefficient of +0.633, indicating that an increase in
religiosity enhances religious moderation attitudes. Simultaneously, both variables
also significantly impact the religious moderation attitudes of Generation Z in
Kulon Progo, with a combined effect of 70.4%. The findings underscore the
importance of engaging and moderate dakwah to broaden the perspectives of the
younger generation and assist them in better implementing religious moderation.
