N2  - This research aims to identify the factors driving Trash-talking behavior among players of the online game Mobile Legends. The study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants in this study consist of three individuals selected using purposive sampling, with criteria including having played Mobile Legends, having engaged in Trash-talking, and being currently or previously part of an esports team. Data collection techniques include interviews and observations. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that all three informants engage in Trash-talking behavior due to several factors divided into internal and external factors. Internal factors include catharsis and self-satisfaction, while external factors include ingroup favoritism and ethnocentrism, provocation, game strategy, environment, motivation, and roles. Among these factors, the most prominent are ingroup favoritism, catharsis, and the influence of the environment. Therefore, it is hoped that Mobile Legends online game players can consider these factors, one of which is by choosing a better gaming environment.
