In this film, the audience is presented with various important events in Buya Hamka's life, starting from his childhood full of obstacles to his role in education and the world of literature. Many scenes show Buya Hamka's efforts to spread his views and fight for Indonesian independence through his writings. The purpose of this study is to determine the personality or personality of Hamka in the film Buya Hamka vol.2. The method used in this study is qualitative research. The data collection technique in this study uses a document analysis technique in the form of reading notes. The data analysis technique in this study uses a qualitative analysis method, namely the interpretive approach. The results of the study show that the dominant personality type in Buya Hamka is a phlegmatic personality type. Meanwhile, in John Fiske's theory, namely the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology, the following codes have been found. (1) The level of reality shows that Buya Hamka is a simple figure. (2) The level of representation shows that Buya Hamka is a character figure with strong principles.
