N2  - Economic empowerment of farmers is an empowerment process that involves goat farmers as important actors in the concept of the development paradigm, namely sustainable development. Some people in Kulon Progo Regency have had small livestock businesses for a long time. But if you pay attention, there are still many farmers who are financially lacking, especially in Karangsewu Village. Various efforts have been made to solve these problems. One of them is the existence of an economic empowerment program for goat farmers related to improving the economy of farmers and helping to meet the needs of goats during qurban. In this case LAZ Nurul Hayat Yogyakarta in the Prosperous Village Livestock Program aims to improve the welfare of goat farmers in Karangsewu Village, Galur District, Kulon Progo Regency. The formulation of the problem in this study is the strategy and impact of economic empowerment of goat farmers in Karangsewu Village, Galur District, Kulon Progo Regency by LAZ Nurul Hayat Yogyakarta. This research is a field research with descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used in this research is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.
The results of the research found that the Nurul Hayat Yogyakarta Amil Zakat Institution uses economic empowerment strategies for goat breeders, namely access to capital for breeders, strengthening the breeder group organization, socialization and mentoring of breeders, target time & goat weight. While the economic empowerment carried out by goat breeders has an impact that can be felt by goat breeders, namely increasing knowledge in breeding, broad goat marketing access, training breeders to give zakat, and additional income.
Based on the results of the analysis in the field, it is known that LAZ Nurul Hayat Yogyakarta has a supportive strategy to improve the economy of breeders and the fulfillment of goats during qurban. It can be seen from the theory of economic empowerment strategies and the impact of economic empowerment. Through this Prosperous Village Livestock Program, goat farmers can improve their economy, welfare and become muzakki. Although there are still obstacles faced by program implementers, they can be overcome well.
