%X This study aims to see the effect of economic growth, foreign direct investment (FDI), electrical energy consumption, population growth, and exports on air quality degradation where carbon dioxide is an indicator of the object of research in Indonesia 1990-2020. This research was conducted using the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis using eviews. The results of this study indicate that economic growth, electrical energy consumption, and population growth partially have a significant positive effect on environmental damage in Indonesia. However, foreign direct investment has a negative effect on carbon dioxide, which means that every 1% increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) can reduce carbon dioxide in Indonesia. Simultaneously, all independent variables affect the dependent variable. This means that all independent variables, such as economic growth, foreign direct investment (FDI), electrical energy consumption, population growth, and exports can affect the dependent variable, which is carbon dioxide emissions.
