%X Therapeutic communication is communication focused on client healing. This topic is mental health. Based on 2018 health research, 19 million Indonesians aged 15 years and over experience emotional mental disorders, and more than 12 million experience depression. However, only 2.6% have utilized government facilities in the last 1. The purpose of this study was to analyze the 3 phases of therapeutic communication carried out by psychologists at the Grhasia Mental Hospital in Yogyakarta with four aspects of mental health. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method with analysis by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity method uses source triangulation. The study results showed that psychologists, in carrying out therapeutic communication with clients, use attitudes that support interpersonal communication, such as openness, empathy, supportive attitudes, positive attitudes, equality, respect, audible, and humility. The explanation of the 3 phases of therapeutic communication and their relationship to the four aspects of mental health is that in the orientation phase, the client still identifies the problems they are experiencing. In the work phase, the client has begun to understand the situation and the solutions for experiencing something similar. Finally, the termination phase is when the client has finished with the problem they have, and the client's focus is on the future. It can be concluded that therapeutic communication in realizing the client's mental health is proven to be discovered in the termination phase.
