abstract: The phenomenon of hegemonic masculinity is often found in the social life of Indonesian society which still perpetuates patriarchal culture, especially in literary works which are basically literature as a manifestation of writers' views on social problems around them. Your research aims to find out and analyze the problem of hegemonic masculinity, forms of hegemonic masculinity and new forms of masculinity in the novel Enjoy The Little Things (2018) by Kincir Mainan. The theories used in this research are Rawyn Connell theory of hegemonic masculinity and Swingwood literary sociology.
This research is included in the qualitative descriptive approach research with the type of library research. The data collection technique used in this research uses note-reading techniques. The results of this research reveal that First, the problem of hegemonic masculinity in the novel Enjoy The Little Things is that the character Rani has succeeded in controlling and dominating Yudha in body, clothing and work as a result of patriarchal cultural construction. Likewise with Jonah, he gained dominance from Yudha to change his gender expression. Second, there are three patterns of forms of hegemonic masculinity in the novel Enjoy The Little Things, including the pattern of hegemonic masculinity found in the character Yudha who is depicted as a man who does not conform to the ideal image of hegemonic men, the pattern of subordinate masculinity depicted in the character Jonah as subordinate masculinity who is dominated by the hegemonic masculinity group in the form of harassment through language, namely the word bancı and urging him to change his gender expression to be like a man in society, and the pattern of marginal masculinity is depicted in the character Jonah experiencing violence and marginalization and the character Ranı experiencing marginalization due to the negative stigma of being pregnant out of wedlock. and miscarriage. Third, in the novel Enjoy The Little Things, there is the character Yudha as a new form of masculinity, namely metrosexual who is identified as androgynous. Meanwhile, the character Jonah wears women's clothing to express his femininity and subjectivity as a transgender
