The regional student organization Keluarga Mahasiswa Sumenep Yogyakarta (KMSY) is an organization whose members are students from Sumenep Madura and are studying in Yogyakarta. Ethnic cultural differences between Java and Madura make KMSY members must be able to maintain their identity as Madurese. KMSY members have a common cultural identity that can form solidarity. However, solidarity is not only limited to groups but can extend to civil solidarity and political solidarity. The purpose of this study is to find out the background of students joining KMSY, find out the forms of KMSY identity, analyze solidarity in KMSY, find out the driving and inhibiting factors of KMSY in maintaining identity and forming solidarity. This research uses Emile Durkheim and Sally Scholz's Solidarity theory. Emile Durkheim's Social Solidarity is divided into mechanical and organic solidarity. Meanwhile, Sally Scholz sees community solidarity from a political perspective, namely a society with political solidarity and a society with civil solidarity. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data obtained through research informants, namely administrators and members of the KMSY organization. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that KMSY is an organization that accommodates students from Sumenep studying in Yogyakarta, providing a place to gather, interact, and build brotherhood. KMSY maintains Madurese identity through the use of language, traditional clothing, religious practices and cultural values. Solidarity among members is maintained through various joint activities, care and assistance to fellow communities. The organization is also active in social and advocacy activities. The driving factors for KMSY in maintaining identity and solidarity include commitment to Madurese values, members' awareness of the importance of culture, and regular cultural activities. However, challenges faced include interaction with Yogyakarta's local culture, varied member commitment, as well as negative stereotypes about Madurese. In maintaining solidarity, challenges include inactivity of some members and academic demands.
