%X There can be no life together without social interaction, which is the
foundation of all social life. It is important to encourage interaction to children at a
young age so that they can live side by side with others around them as adults.
However, in reality, not all children can interact effectively because each child has
different physical and mental readiness in adapting to their environment. This
ability to interact is influenced by several factors, including parenting patterns and
the social environment around the child. Therefore, children need encouragement
in the form of parenting pattern and a good social environment so that children are
able to interact well. The objectives of this study were to: (1) Determine the partial
influence of the parenting patterns and social environment on the social interaction
skills of children in Al-Muhtadin Kindergarten aged 4-6 years. (2) Determine the
simultan influence of the social environment and parenting patterns on the social
interaction skills of children in Al-Muhtadin Kindergarten aged 4-6 years.
Quantitative research methodology was used in this study. The sampel in
this study was 36 respondents. The data collection method in this study used a
questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis was the method used in this study
for data analysis. The results of the study showed that: (1) Partially, parenting
pattern has a significant influence (0.030 < 0.05) with an effective contribution (SE)
of 24.9% and the social environment has a significant influence (0.023 < 0.05) on
an effective contribution (SE ) of 26.3% of children's social interaction abilities at
Al-Muhtadin Kindergarten. (2) Simultaneously, Parenting Pattern and the social
environment have a significant effect (0.000 < 0.05) on children's social interaction
abilities at Al-Muhtadin Kindergarten, with a coefficient of determination of
51.2%.
