One of these developments is language development. According to B.F Skinner, language development is influenced by environmental stimuli. In the context of digital technology, this stimulus can take the form of educational applications that help children's language acquisition. In fact, the use of digital technology for children can delay children's language development. Based on pre-researcher observations in Kasihan 1 Hamlet, RT 16 RW 5, Lendah District, Kulon Progo Regency, children misunderstand because the use of language is unclear, for example, children watching videos that use a certain accent make children misunderstand the meaning or meaning of the word. Apart from that, the use of gadgets causes children to speak impolitely, such as watching videos with adult content and containing impolite words, children can immediately remember and say them again. Furthermore, gadgets have an impact on reading delays, because children use gadgets more than interacting directly in their environment. This research aims to: 1) determine the strengthening of digital literacy for early childhood children 5-6 years old in Kasihan Hamlet 1 RT 16 RW 5 Lendah District, Kulon Progo Regency, 2) determine the impact of digital literacy on the language development of children aged 5-6 years in Kasihan Hamlet 1 RT 16 RW 5 Lendah District, Kulon Progo Regency. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach carried out on children aged 5-6 years. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and docume ntation. The subjects of this research were children aged 5-6 years and their parents or caregivers in Kasihan Hamlet 1 RT 16 RW 5 Ngentakrejo Village, Lendah District, Kulon Progo Regency. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of this research data using source triangulation. The research results showed that parents were strengthened by understanding early digital literacy education, attending parent training or workshops on digital literacy, using educational applications, and carrying out group activities. Apart from that, there are positive and negative impacts of digital literacy. The positive impacts of digital literacy in children's language development include improving reading and writing skills, enriching new vocabulary, high motivation and involvement, developing listening and speaking skills, and developing creativity. Meanwhile, the negative impacts include physical health risks, decreased social and face-to-face communication skills, and inappropriate use of language. date: 2024-08-22 date_type: published pages: 199 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Herlina Indrianti, NIM.: 20104030031 (2024) DAMPAK PENGUATAN LITERASI DIGITAL TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN BAHASA ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN (STUDI KASUS DI DUSUN KASIHAN 1 RT 16 RW 5 DESA NGENTAKREJO KECAMATAN LENDAH KABUPATEN KULON PROGO).
