Textbooks are the primary source for teaching or content delivery and are vital in integrating culture and cultural elements into the teaching and learning process. Many Arabic language textbooks contain materials that discuss Arab culture as the target language culture. One such book is Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik. One of the objectives of Arabic language learning is for students to understand the culture of the target language, namely Arabic culture, in addition to learning Arabic from linguistic and communicative perspectives. It can be understood that examining the cultural context and intercultural competence within this book is essential for achieving greater success in Arabic language learning, as language learning involves linguistic knowledge, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of the language's culture. In this research, the author employs a library research approach, using the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book as the primary data source for in-depth analysis. The author also uses content analysis to analyze the data, where the main source is derived from the materials within this book. The researcher uses a deductive procedure to categorize and sort these materials, where categorization is based on the theory used in analyzing the materials in the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book. The theory used in analyzing the materials in the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book is Byram's theory of cultural content and intercultural competence. This research reveals that the cultural content presented in the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book primarily focuses on cultures around the Arabian Peninsula. There are few representations of international cultures, such as mentions of countries outside the Arab region, like Tokyo and America. Additionally, numerous references to Islamic cultures are included in the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book. This can be observed in the categories explained in the form of social identity, social interaction, beliefs and daily behaviors, social institutions, and national history. Learning with the Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik book indirectly exposes students to a process of Arabisation and Islamisation through insights into the target culture and Islamic culture. This is evident from the various cultural content in the book regarding Arab and Islamic culture, packaged as materials and exercises. Concerning the intercultural competence within this book, it presents intercultural communication issues that form a series of cultural content already displayed. Firstly, cultural knowledge is dominated by Arab and Islamic cultures. In terms of cultural attitudes, there is partial acceptance of other cultures and rejection of other cultures, which can be seen in one of the materials discussing globalization. Cultural awareness is built through various materials that discuss Islam and large and small countries, such as awareness of Islam that does not consider race, ethnicity, or nationality.
