abstract: One of local wisdom in Gunungkidul is use beluntas plants as a menstrual pain reliever and lactation supplement. The phytochemical content of beluntas leaves also has potential as an antifertility agent. Uterus can respond to structural and functional changes due to estrogen and progesterone hormones from the ovaries, which affects embryo implantation. This study aims to analyze the effect of beluntas leaf water extract on uterine micromorphometry and the dosage that can influence uterine micromorphometry in female rats. The study consisted of 4 treatments: K+(2mL of aquades and 0.9mg/200gBB of 'Andalan Laktasi' contraceptive pills), P1(2mL of beluntas leaf water extract at 20% concentration), P2(2mL of beluntas leaf water extract at 40% concentration), and P3(2mL of beluntas leaf water extract at 80% concentration) for 15 days (lactation period) with 3 repetitions. The results showed that the smallest thickness of right uterine layers was 7.70±3.11(perimetrium) for P2; 7.30±1.47(myometrium) for P1; and 17.25±0.92(endometrium) for P3. The largest right lumen diameter was 14.60±2.40(P3) and smallest right uterus was 80.65±9.55(P3). The smallest thickness of left uterine layers was 7.30±0.99(perimetrium) for P3; 7.00± 1.13(myometrium) for P3; and 17.83±0.85(endometrium) for P1. The largest left lumen diameter was 16.93±3.47(P1) and smallest left uterus was 80.20±6.91(P1). The treatment with beluntas leaf water extract showed effects similar to K+. It can be concluded that 2 mL of beluntas leaf water extract at concentrations 20%, 40%, and 80% can affect the thickness of perimetrium, myometrium, endometrium, lumen diameter, uterus, and has same effect as 'Andalan' Lactation contraceptive pills.
