Intellectual disability is not entirely a barrier to building a family, because they also have biological needs that need to be met. In Ponorogo, more precisely in Karangpatihan and Sidoharjo Villages, there are relatively high numbers of people with intellectual disabilities, so there are marriages between people with intellectual disabilities who are economically poor. This picture of poverty can be seen from the difficulty in meeting basic needs, small houses with dirt floors, and the difficulty of opportunities to escape the shackles of poverty due to the disability they suffer from. Despite these conditions, their households have survived for years without a single divorce, and some couples even have children. The type of research in this thesis is field research, while its nature is descriptive-analytical, using an empirical scientific approach. Then the data needed in this study were obtained from statements of people related to intellectual disability marriages, namely parents, relatives, neighbors, village officials, social institutions Rumah Harapan and Sidowayah Berdaya, plus books or scientific works that still have similar themes. The data were collected using interview techniques, and documentation, then analyzed using the ecological theory owned by Urie Bronfrenbrenner. This study concludes that based on the indicators of the five aspects of family resilience, couples with intellectual disabilities still have difficulty in fulfilling some of these indicators, due to the intellectual disability conditions suffered by the couples. However, with the support and assistance from parents, relatives, neighbors, social institutions, and the village government, the fulfillment of this aspect of family resilience can be fulfilled quite well. On the other hand, the survival of families in intellectual disability marriages in Ponorogo Regency, the most dominant factor is due to the intellectual disability condition, and the unity between partners which makes their households rarely experience quarrels and are easier to accept each other's conditions. In addition, the presence of parents or relatives and children. However, it cannot be denied, other support or assistance factors such as relationships with neighbors, social institutions, the influence of the mass media and government policies that provide support or assistance to people with disabilities, so that they are able to maintain their families} }
