"This research is based on the stipulation of the rights and obligations of\r\nhusband and wife in marriage, which states that husband and wife have the\r\nobligation to foster a household that is sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. This\r\nimbalance in the fulfillment of rights and obligations can cause disharmony in the\r\nhousehold, which often ends in conflict and divorce. However, the case of the wife\r\nof a terrorist inmate shows a different phenomenon. Although some of their rights\r\nas wives are often neglected due to their husbands being imprisoned, many of them\r\nstill choose to maintain the integrity of their households. On that basis, the author\r\nis interested in examining how they understand the concept or provision of rights\r\nand obligations in the family and why they maintain the integrity of their household,\r\nto see the relationship between their understanding of rights and obligations and\r\ntheir attitude of maintaining their marriage.\r\nThis research is a field research with a qualitative method. Data collection\r\nwas carried out through interviews with the wives of three terrorist inmates in\r\nLamongan, to explore the reasons for them to maintain the integrity of their\r\nhouseholds. The nature of this research is descriptive analytical, namely describing\r\nthe data that has been obtained through interviews. The data were studied using\r\nfunctional structural theory initiated by Talcott Parsons.\r\nThe study reveals that first, the wives of terrorist inmates have a good\r\nunderstanding of their rights and obligations in the family, including understanding\r\nthat the imprisonment of a spouse can be a reason for divorce, but they do not take\r\na stance to decide on marriage even though their husbands are serving prison\r\nsentences. Second, that the reason why the wife of a terrorist inmate continues to\r\nmaintain the integrity of her household is influenced by two factors, namely internal\r\nand external factors. Internal factors include, religiosity, support from close family,\r\nand maintained communication. The external factors include financial support from\r\na certain institution. These wives also show the ability to adapt to the circumstances\r\nthey face, to achieve their goals (goal attainment), maintain integration in family\r\nrelationships, and maintain values and norms (latency)."^^ .
