description: Mental health is very important for human life, according to Dinesh Bhugra,  mental health is a state of equipoise where the individual is at peace with themself, is able  to function effectively socially and is able to look after their own basic needs as well as  higher function needs. Positive functionality means managing change, relationships and  emotions in a constructive manner. This research aims to describe the mental health within  the tarekat congregation, what influences the mental health of the tarekat congregation  and mental health in the eyes of the congregation. Participants in this research were three  congregations who had been attending the congregation for more than 1 year. The research  uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection in this research used interview and  observation techniques. Based on the research that has been conducted, researchers  concluded that the informants have good mental health and different dynamics but have  the same calmness in living life. Factors that influenced the mental health of the three  participants included dhikr assemblies held in groups and individually, taklim assemblies  and the presence of a murshid. Another finding in this research is that the murshid in the  tarekat plays the role of counselor who is able to calm his congregation emotionally and  cognitively so that a zuhud lifestyle emerges which makes them calmer in living their lives
