This study aims to analyze the functional group and crystallinity of magnetite catalyst (Fe3O4-ME) using FTIR and XRD techniques, examine the effect of Fe3O4-ME catalyst mass variation on the LDPE plastic pyrolysis process on the yield of pyrolysis oil products, determine the quality of pyrolysis oil based on the parameters of calorific value, viscosity, flash point, and density, and identify the composition of pyrolysis oil using GC-MS analysis. Fe3O4-ME catalyst was synthesized using the reverse coprecipitation method with FeCl₃.6H₂O, FeSO₄.7H₂O, NaOH, and cassava peel extract. Synthesis was carried out at pH 12 for 60 minutes at 60°C. FTIR analysis showed typical uptake at peaks of 570.93 cm⁻¹ and 3410.15 cm⁻¹, indicating that the Fe₃O₄-ME formed was appropriate. XRD analysis indicated the crystallinity of magnetite with an average crystal size of 4.73 nm. Fe3O4-ME catalysts with mass variations of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, and 1.25 grams were applied to LDPE plastic waste pyrolysis. The highest oil yield was obtained at the use of a catalyst of 1.25 grams. GC-MS characterization indicates the presence of alkane compounds. The density, calorific value and viscosity of pyrolysis oil were 0.81455 g/mL, 10104.5653 cal/g, and 29.6 cp, respectively. The data obtained confirmed that this study was going well. date: 2024-08-08 date_type: published pages: 106 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Muhamad Zakariya, NIM.: 20106030037 (2024) SINTESIS MAGNETIT TERMODIFIKASI EKSTRAK KULIT SINGKONG (Manihot esculenta) DAN APLIKASINYA SEBAGAI KATALIS DALAM PIROLISIS LIMBAH PLASTIK LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LDPE).
