Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi is a conservation area characterized by its unique features, notably its high volcanic activity. This activity leads to significant disruptions to the surrounding vegetation, especially in areas affected by pyroclastic flows. This research aims to determine the diversity, distribution structure, Importance Value Index (IVI), and conservation status of ferns in areas affected by pyroclastic flows from Mount Merapi's eruption. The research was conducted along the pyroclastic flow path in Mount Merapi National Park, focusing on the Gendol Riverbanks. The methods used include inventory and vegetation analysis to identify species, distribution, Importance Value Index (IVI), and conservation status of ferns. The results of the study indicate that the fern diversity in the area falls into the medium category, comprising 18 species from 11 different families, with a total of 2,048 individuals. Among them, Pityrogramma calomelanos dominates the species composition with a total of 321 individuals. The Importance Value Index (IVI) analysis shows that Pityrogramma calomelanos has the highest IVI at three out of five stations, with indices of 80.45, 74.36, and 85.04. Additionally, most species in the research area exhibit a clustered distribution pattern. The study also reveals that the majority of fern species in the study area are not currently threatened, although Thelypteris palustris shows a declining trend in existence, and several other species have not been comprehensively evaluated. date: 2024-08-15 date_type: published pages: 126 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Ahmad Makarim P, NIM.: 19106040018 (2024) DISTRIBUSI DAN KEANEKARAGAMAN TUMBUHAN PAKU (Pteridophyta) DI JALUR GUGURAN AWAN PANAS GUNUNG MERAPI.
