Therefore, this study aims to (1) find out the legal protection related to the guidance and fulfillment of the rights of correctional students and (2) reveal the inhibiting factors in the guidance and fulfillment of rights for correctional students of immoral crimes at the Class II Wonosari Yogyakarta Special Development Institute for Children. This research uses field research which is descriptive-analytical in nature. For this reason, the research approach used is empirical juridical with primary data sources in the form of direct interviews with correctional students and officers at the Special Development Institute for Children Class II Yogyakarta. This study shows that (1) Legal protection for correctional students of immoral crimes regarding the guidance and fulfilment of children's rights at LPKA Class II Wonosari Yogyakarta is guided by Law No. 11 of 2012 concerning the Child Criminal Justice System, Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, and Law No. 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections. The fulfilment of the rights of correctional students is closely related to the guidance provided by LPKA Class II Wonosari Yogyakarta in the form of services, care, education, training, and guidance. The coaching model goes through four stages. First, fostering disciplinary behaviour. Second, personality development. Third, fostering legal and intellectual awareness. Fourth, fostering independence. However, the implementation has not gone well because there are a number of inhibiting factors.
