The discourse becomes more intense as it deals with bank interests. The anti-usury discourteous tradition is closely related to the triggering past time, such as the refusal of injustice and the hope of Islam superiority to return. The pressure of not-ideal sytem the Muslim society has experienced promotes authority-linking agents to develop various anti-usury movements which appear throughout the nation, including Bajarnegara. No-Usury Community (Masyarakat Tanpa Riba (MTR) is one of these existing movements. The study of No-Usury Community (NUC) of Banjarnegara is aimed to explore two fundamental questions: 1] What does the NUC of Banjarnegara know about usury texts in the Koran and hadits? 2] Why does the Community think that way then put it into practice? To answer these questions, a qualitative reseach with a phenomenological approach was carried out. The data obtained though 1] participatory observation, 2] interviewa, and 3] documentation were analyzed and interpreted under the theory of reception and the discourteous tradition of Talal Asad. Hermeneutically, NUC interprets anti-usury texts eclectically and atomically for the text-to-practice transformation is driven by their ideology instead of the texts. Anti-usury texts are interpreted as they are to confirm the urgency of revivalism. Thus, NUC puts the contexts aside, and takes the phrase ?ru?usu amwalikum? (the loan) while neglecting the following phrase ?La tazlimuna wa la tuzlamun?. The anti-usury texts NUC cited and made it a doctrine are criticism and threat which was meant to give a traumatic feeling to the readers and the listeners. What the community?s takfir that whoever takes usury and claim that so little sin as usuary (bank interest interaction) equals to having adultary with one?s own mother is an example. NUC inteledtually develops its ideas entitled anti-usury in many variety of concepts (i.e. anti capitalism, anti bank interest, hijrah kaffah, success in business upon sharia and friendly missionary endeavor by following thetexts in the Koran and the relevant hadits. In the transmision process, with the ideology camouflage NUC an instiled anti-usury concept in a pluralistic society, and wraped up their people-embracing preachings under a luring theme: a solution to loan traps and a blessed life without loan interest. Having the knowledge and frame alignment power that they are in the same boat, the NUC elite convinced members of NUC of Banjarnegara successfully to adopt th idea and leave conventional economic systems. To maintain the spirit, variety of knowledge and totality Islam doctrine were continually transmitted to all members to settle down their militancy.
