"The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in the academic field has\r\nrapidly developed, raising questions about the legality and ethics of its use in\r\nassisting with academic tasks. This study focuses on analyzing the role of AI as an\r\nexpert in assisting with academic tasks from the perspectives of positive law and\r\nIslamic law. Although positive law in Indonesia does not recognize the concept of\r\nanalogy in its legislation, Islamic law employs the methods of qiyas and sadd azzari'ah\r\nto analyze new phenomena that are not explicitly regulated in the Sharia\r\ntexts.\r\nThis research uses a normative juridical approach with qualitative analysis\r\nmethods. In Islamic law, the theory of qiya>s is applied to equate AI cases with\r\nsimilar situations regulated by Sharia, while Sadd az|-z|ari'ah is used to close\r\nloopholes that could lead to legal or ethical violations. On the other hand, positive\r\nlaw in Indonesia emphasizes written rules without analogy, making the role of AI\r\nas an expert in academic tasks complex and requiring more specific regulation.\r\nThe results of the study indicate that in Islamic law, AI is more\r\nappropriately seen as a tool rather than an expert with full authority in completing\r\nacademic tasks. The use of AI can be leveraged to support the academic process\r\nas long as it does not violate ethical principles governed by Sharia. Meanwhile, in\r\npositive law, clearer regulations are needed to set boundaries on the use of AI in\r\nthe academic context to prevent misuse that could harm academic integrity"^^ .
